Annalisa lives and creates on the Central Coast of New South Wales. Her love of travel and humour provide creative fuel for her acrylic artworks, illustrations, comedy, poetry, photography, and other endeavours.
Raised in Sydney, Annalisa met her husband in Terrigal and credits him as her eternal muse. “Without him there would be no art.”

About the artist
Annalisa McCarthy is a local artist, comedian, photographer, author, illustrator, and radio personality DJ Annalisa Express. Annalisa loves nothing more than to make people laugh and enjoy the vast sea of experiences that form our lives. Positivity is key, and you are invited to jump on board the Annalisa Express.
About Annalisa’s creations
Annalisa’s artworks feature bold colours and a variety of painting styles. Her favourite is the ‘naive’ style, resulting in fun paintings that draw you (and your imagination) all the way in. Check out the gallery page to view some of her work.
As a poet, author, comedian, photographer, and songwriter, it’s fair to say Annalisa’s creative output is prolific. Her process involves taking inspiration and ideas wherever they are and writing them down immediately – on the back of napkins, receipts, brochures… whatever it takes to capture the moment.
Festival and band photography
Annalisa is the official band photographer for local band, Bad Witch, and is involved in gig photography for international artist Meg Mac. This takes Annalisa to festivals and concerts across the region.
